There’s something special about watching a child find a book they can’t wait to read. At The Curious Turtle, we believe book fairs should be about more than simply filling tables with books—they should help students discover stories they love while supporting the schools and libraries that help them grow.
We’re proud to partner with schools in Jefferson City and surrounding Missouri communities to bring thoughtfully curated book fairs directly to students and families.
Why Host a Curious Turtle Book Fair?
Books chosen with your school in mind. We work with your librarian, teachers, or school representatives to understand your students and your community. You can tell us what kinds of books you’d love to see, what you’d prefer we leave out, and which age groups or reading interests you want us to prioritize.
A wide range of readers. From board books and picture books to early readers, middle grade, young adult, and adult titles for parents and teachers, we can build a selection that encourages the whole family to read.
Support for your school library. Purchases made through the book fair earn credit for your school library, helping you add more books to your shelves and put more stories into students’ hands.
A local bookstore partnership. When you host a Curious Turtle book fair, you’re supporting an independently owned Missouri business that cares deeply about literacy, families, and our community.
How It Works
1. Tell us about your school. Reach out with your preferred dates, location, approximate student enrollment, and the grade levels you’d like the fair to serve.
2. We curate your selection. We’ll work with your school to understand reading interests, curriculum needs, age appropriateness, and any specific requests or preferences.
3. We plan the details together. We’ll coordinate the book fair format, schedule, setup, payment options, and any special activities that make sense for your school.
4. Your students shop and your library benefits. Families discover new books, and your school earns credit toward additional books for its library.
