Kindred Dragons, Book 1 (GRAPHIC) By Sarah Mensinga

In this enchanting middle-grade graphic novel, Kindred Dragons weaves a tale of self-discovery, empathy, and the unexpected bonds that shape our lives. Set in a world where dragons are linked to humans known as Kindreds, the story follows Alice, a young girl sent to live with her strict grandmother on Prince Edward Island. Despite her love for dragons, Alice has never received a dragon egg, a rite reserved for select families. However, her life takes a magical turn when she befriends Brim, an elderly dragon without a Kindred. When Brim falls ill, Alice embarks on a quest to save him, uncovering her unique connection to dragons along the way. This heartfelt narrative explores themes of friendship, family, and self-acceptance, reminiscent of Anne of Green Gables and How to Train Your Dragon.
